Hi! I am Candice, the creator of Soul With A Body and CanDance Fitness. To introduce myself, let me first share who I am not. I'm not someone who was trained professionally in any field. I don't have a degree in fitness or anatomy. I don't even have a Bachelors Degree. I took one year of ballet in elementary school, but never stopped dancing or moving my body.
I am someone who has experienced the benefits of dance and movement to help overcome my own depression, anxiety, and hardships. Dancing and freedom in movement became a necessity for me. My story is similar to many others'....trauma, stress, postpartum depression after all three kids, etc. Unable to afford therapy, unwilling to go on medication, I moved my body. It was all I could do to keep myself going day to day.
That is how this entire journey began, out of a deperation to find myself again, to know and love myself, to grow and become stronger mentally and maybe even physically. Over the course of 10 years, I have been certified as a personal trainer, Zumba instructor, and 200 hour Yoga teacher. All of these have helped me along my journey, but ultimately I found joy in the creating. The creating of easy to follow dance fitness routines that not only make you sweat, but also get you IN your body. The freedom of movement and strength building that is not just reps and sets, but utilizing the breath to increase endurance.


My goal is to provide a safe space for people to get out of their heads and into their bodies. To leave the judgement and stress at the door, and spend some time moving and breathing with intention. My goal is to show people how much we hold back out of fear. Fear of what others think, fear of what we could look like, fear of acting childish. I'm here to shine some light on these fears, and plow right through them together. That is where freedom is found.
